ON SET FOR THE BBC

by Ebby / Journal / 0 Comments

Few weeks ago I had the privilege of being cast in a TV show for the BBC. It was my first time working on set with children. The leads; a boy and girl. To be honest, I was secretly afraid that it was gonna be a long day. Kept praying for God’s grace to see me through. Will they remember their lines? will they give the right emotion? How many takes will it take for us to nail the scene? Will they take direction? So many questions…
When we got on set for our first rehearsal. I was blown away! They were naturals. Complete professionals. I dare say, better than most adults I’ve worked with before.  They remembered their lines, they took direction perfectly and stayed in character in between takes (something I never expected from kids seeing as they get easily distracted). It was such a pleasure working with them. Wouldn’t mind doing that again AND again. This was my second time working with a female director and she was also very good. She knew exactly what she wanted and how to go about getting it. Made life very easy for us.
Really wanted to take a picture with the kids but they wrapped while I was shooting my final scene 🙁 Not to worry though, I still managed to take a picture with my other co stars who, by the way, we’re so much fun to work with. They were so relaxed. No pressure. Made being on set feel like a holiday 🙂
